The concept of The Collective Local stemmed from some major life events. By profession, I’m a Software Engineer, but a few years ago, I began to organise and host events for LGBTQ women. I have since run events across London, Hertfordshire and Norfolk. This initiative arose from feelings of loneliness and isolation. Witnessing the transformative power of community and connection at these events inspired me deeply.
In 2022, I embraced solo motherhood and relocated to Norfolk in search of a stronger support system. While this brought immense joy, it also reignited feelings of solitude and isolation. I decided to channel my passion for event organisation into something more than a hobby.
The concept of holistic events emerged from recognising three key activities which support good mental health: well-being practices, forging meaningful connections, and fostering personal growth.
